The relation between inflammatory factors and AF attracts tremendous attention. Meanwhile, there is less report on the relation between AF and inflammatory factors. Thus, the interleukin-6(IL-6) and interleukin-23(IL-23) in atrial tissue of chronic AF patients are detected, in order to studying their function on AF and further explaining the relation between inflammatory factors and Flaying a solid theoretical foundation for guiding clinical prevention and cure of AF.
Based on the spirit of Declaration of Helsinki, all the patients need to get approved by Ethics Committee in hospital before operation and obtain permission from patients and their family members. 20 cardiac operation patients are chosen. And there are 10 in AF group (5 males,5 females),whose age is between 39 and 64 (52.1±10.05), and 10 patients with AF duration of more than six months. Meanwhile, there are 10 cases in SR group (4 males,6 females), whose age is between 21 and 69 (41.2±18.75). And there are no arrhythmia medical history among the 20 patients. All the routine inspections, electrocardiogram, chest PA, cardiac color ultrasound and related laboratory examination are conducted on all the cases, and infectious diseases, severe hepatic and renal dysfunction, diabetes, tumor and acute coronary syndrome are excluded.Aspirin,Plavix and lipid-lowering drugs are stopped for at least 5 half-lives routinely before operation. Masson staining method is applied to observe the degree of fibrosis for tissue in right auricle after taking auricular appendix out, and calculate collagen volume fraction (CVF), ELISA method is used to determine the level of IL-6 and IL-23 in right auricle.
1.Myocardial cells in AF group is disorganized and there is obvious hyperplasia in collagenous fiber greened in myocardial matrix, and also, muscle bundle of cardiac muscle is separated by strip-shape collagenous fiber; 2.CVF in AF group is obviously higher than that of SR group, which is of significant difference in statistics (17.90±2.98% vs 14.19%, P<0.05); 3.he IL-6 level of atrial tissue in AF group is obviously higher than that in SR group (6.59±1.37ng/L vs 4.83±0.93ng/L, P<0.05), and is positively correlated with CVF(r=0.97, P<0.05); 4.The IL-23 level of atrial tissue in AF group is obviously higher than that in SR group (24.03±4.38pg/L vs 17.21±3.03), and is positively correlated with LAD and CVF(r=0.68.P<0.05).
Inflammatory factors is involved in AF pathological process, and is associated with atrial remodeling in AF patients. Controlling inflammatory response of AF patients can improving atrial remodeling, which is of great importance in prevent and cure AF.
