By contrasting the various assessment indicators of cardio-pulmonary function between in-patients and ones who have been trained on aerobic treadmill for 3 months; researching the beneficial mechanism from the discharged-patients trained by the aerobic treadmill; providing powerful proof to develop cardiac rehabilitation and effectively help the patients take rehabilitation training to improve the quality of their lives.
In our cardiac rehabilitation centre we selected 10 volunteers with coronary heart disease (8 males,2 females). Before experiment, the subjects were told in detail the purpose, methods and potential risks concerned and signed up medical informed consent. The cardio-pulmonary function of the subjects were tested one time before experiment, and then did the aerobic treadmill training 30 min/day,5 times/week for 12 weeks under the supervision of medical personnel and after that, took assessment of the cardio-pulmonary function of the subjects second time.
1. The index of anaerobic threshold and the METs’ peak of the subjects have advanced 2.87±0.74 to 4.22±1.50 (average increasing 1.35(p<0.01)) through the aerobic treadmill training for 12 weeks. 2. The peak value of oxygen AT uptake per kg of the subjects all have increased3.88±1.11 to 6.55±1.98 (average increasing 2.67(p<0.01)). 3. The peak value of oxygen uptake per kg of the subjects all have increased13.58±3.86 to 22.89±6.96 (average increasing 9.31(p<0.01)).
The reasonable intensity aerobic treadmill training will enhance the patients’ exercise tolerance and their cardiopulmonary oxygen uptake capacity. It will slow down the aging of heart and improve the patient’s quality of life. Discharged patient.
