Absolute risks are given with 95% CIs. End of follow-up was March 1, 2016, for all-cause mortality and December 31, 2014 for MI. Full statistical model was adjusted for age, sex, chronic kidney disease, hospital, heart failure, prior stroke, COPD, diabetes, prior cardiac revascularization, and use of aspirin, P2Y12 inhibitor, beta-blockers, ACE/ARB, and statins the first 6 months following the index date. MIs diagnosed during the period when some hospitals used the hs-cTnT assay, but with a higher decision limit for MI than the 99th percentile value, and MIs diagnosed in other health care settings than emergency hospitals were not included in these analyses.
