Crude prevalence of LAE based on internal MONICA-Augsburg partition value (men iLA ≥35.7 ml/m; women iLA ≥33.7 ml/m) among normal-weight normotensive (men BMI <27.3 kg/m2; women BMI <27.8 kg/m2), normal-weight hypertensive (systolic/diastolic blood pressure ≥140/90 mm Hg or drugs), obese normotensive individuals, and obese hypertensive men and women. p values were calculated with chi-square tests (vs. normal-weight normotensive individuals).
